Getting started

What is FavCircles?

FavCircles is a trust-based recommendation app. You save your favorite places into "circles" (curated collections like Date Night or Coffee), connect with people you know, and discover new places through your network instead of anonymous reviews.

Is it free?

Yes. The core app is free. Optional subscriptions add premium features for individuals (FavCircles Premium) and tools for business owners (FavCircles Business). Both are billed through your Apple account and can be cancelled anytime in your device's subscription settings.

How do I add a place?

Tap the + button, search for the place (or drop a pin on the map), pick a circle, and save. You can add notes, photos, tags, and a personal rating along the way.

Privacy & sharing

Who can see my circles and places?

You choose per circle and per place: Public (anyone on FavCircles), My Network (your connections only), or Private (just you). Moments have the same visibility choices.

What's the difference between connecting and following?

A connection is mutual — both people agree, you see each other's network-level content (circles and places set to "My Network"), and you can message each other. A follow is one-way and needs no approval: you'll see that person's public places and activity only — not their network-level content, and following doesn't let you message them. To unlock messaging and network-only content, send a connection request.

FavCoins & the piggy bank

What are FavCoins?

FavCoins are rewards you earn for being part of the community — saving places, liking, commenting, following, and sharing the app. They collect in your in-app piggy bank (tap the ($) on the home screen).

Are they real cryptocurrency?

Yes. FavCoins live on the 🌵 Cactus blockchain. When you're ready, you can claim your balance out of the app and into your own wallet on-chain. Fractional coins keep collecting until there's a whole coin to send.

For business owners

How do I claim my business?

Find your venue in the app, open its page, and choose Claim this business. We verify each claim with your contact information. Once approved, you can manage your listing, post announcements and specials, and set up customer rewards.

What does FavCircles Business include?

Owner tools for your venue: announcements, specials that reach nearby users, loyalty rewards (points, redemption codes, and FavCoins), and insight into your followers. It's a monthly subscription billed through Apple, with a free trial to start.

Safety: reporting & blocking

How do I report inappropriate content?

Every Moment, comment, photo, and place has a ⋯ menu with a Report option. Pick a reason and submit — reports are anonymous. Content reported by multiple people is hidden automatically pending review, and we review reports promptly, typically within 24 hours.

How do I block someone?

Use the ⋯ menu on their profile or any of their content and choose Block. You won't see each other anywhere in FavCircles, and any follows or connections between you are removed. You can unblock later from Settings.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users — offending content is removed and repeat offenders are banned.

Account

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Settings → Delete Account. Or use our data deletion page — no app required.

I signed up with Apple — can I use the Claude connector?

Accounts created with Sign in with Apple need a password for the web sign-in used by AI connectors: set one in the app first, then connect with your email and password. Full instructions are on the Connect to Claude page.

I'm not getting push notifications.

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → FavCircles is allowed, and in the app check Settings → Notifications to pick which alerts you want. Reinstalling the app and signing back in re-registers your device.
